Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed (28 years old) has finally joined the training of his French “Nantes” in preparation for the new season.
The international player, who was ruled out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup by Pharaohs coach Hossam Hasan, was expected to join his team’s training on June 24.
But the former Zamalek player was late to return to training, leaving Nantes confused over his whereabouts.
According to the newspaper “West France” Mustafa Mohamed returned to Nantes’ training center earlier this week and took part in individual training today, Wednesday, isolated from the first team, who are currently in La Baule where they are undergoing a week-long training camp.

He revealed the initial decision regarding the player. “The Egyptian pharaoh will then train with the reserve team until further notice.”
He added that Nantes had texted the player every day since June 24 saying he would not receive his salary until he arrived at the team’s training ground.
“Nantes” coach Michel Der Zakaryan was angry when asked about this, adding that he had never seen such behavior from any player before.
The former coach of “Montpellier” said. “The football player does not want to come to training. This is his problem, not ours. If he doesn’t want to train, let him stay at home.”
Mustafa Mohamed has made no secret of his intention to leave Nantes this summer, especially after his wages were slashed following the club’s relegation to the French second division.
“For their part, the French club, who have won the league title eight times, are not relying heavily on Mostafa Mohamed to spearhead promotion to Ligue 1, but have no intention of letting go of the €6.5m signing from Galatasaray in 2023 for free.
