Police have confirmed that a 26-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Ann Widdicombe

Police in Devon and Cornwall have confirmed that a 26-year-old man has been arrested as part of an investigation into the murder of Anne Widdicombe.

The 78-year-old Reform UK spokeswoman and former Conservative minister was found dead at her Dartmoor home on Thursday morning.

Police said the situation was not being treated as terrorism as part of “initial enquiries” in consultation with counter-terrorism police.
