At the time, there was talk that the new deal could be the end of Pirelli.
However, while there has been talk of interest from other companies for the next deal, sources say Pirelli is open to the idea of continuing beyond 2028.
The FIA will open a tender process for the new supply contract. Interested companies submit their technical bids to the FIA, which decides whether they are suitable, then F1 conducts commercial negotiations which determine the fate of the contract.
