Philips Hue’s budget-friendly Essential series has dropped a new price

Each color-changing bulb can display millions of colors or white light ranging from a warm 2200K to a cool 6500K, while producing up to 800 lumens. The Hue app also offers lighting presets for everything from movie nights to holidays, though you can create your own. Meanwhile, the included Hue Bridge allows you to control the lights when you are away from home, create a schedule, connect up to 50 lights in your home, and set automations to, for example, turn on when you get home. It also allows you to control the lights on all major home platforms, thanks to the compatibility of Matter.

As with the budget-friendly Philips Hue devices, there are a few missing features that should be mentioned. More importantly, the bulbs are reduced to two percent instead of 0.2 percent. Philips Hue also does not guarantee to match the color accuracy of its generation of bulbs. If you’re just looking to fill your home with stylish lighting at a reasonable price, however, this difference may not be important to you.
