Penarth dining-and-dash couples enjoy a two-course dinner at Custom House

A restaurant owner has slammed “disrespectful” couples including 52 Dover Souls who ran off without paying for dinner and drinks.

They dined at The Custom House in Penarth Vale of Glamorgan on Monday evening and racked up a £115 bill, which also included eight peaches, calamari and a two-course set menu.

When the workers’ attention was diverted, their vehicle allegedly left the parking lot before the manager could reach them.

The customers were caught on CCTV leaving, leading the restaurant to issue a social media appeal asking them to return to the premises and arrange payment.

South Wales Police said they were investigating the matter.

“We appreciate you addressing this directly and contacting us as soon as possible,” the restaurant wrote.
