Pedal Electric H/T Review: A Fast, Powerful, Stylish Ebike

The handling at that high speed was excellent. Thanks to the comfortable position and geometry, traveling at a speed of 28 kilometers per hour feels smooth and easy. Quick turns and quick adjustments to avoid a pothole were also easy and smooth, even when I was shooting. The joy of riding fast on H/T comes from the joy of speed, not the fear of losing power.

I’m thankful that no app can match H/T. It makes jumping on the bike and going for a ride feel much better than any other app-controlled bike I’ve tested. The handle bar is also stylish and easy to use, and has a personal license plate for added security. There’s also a USB-C charging port if you decide to get a connector on your phone. The bike has a daytime running light that only illuminates when the sun goes down, dual front and rear lights, and brakes. Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes are responsive and have great stopping power.

Additional information

It’s easy to change the bike and add the necessary features. Pedal provides a Various accessoriesbut what I like is dual battery system. This $850 system isn’t cheap, but it adds another battery to the frame, which increases the range to 40 miles. If you don’t ride this bike on long trips, it won’t be cheap, but I appreciated the opportunity to increase the range.

The rest of the extension line focuses on storage. These include a cooler rack, front and rear racks and boxes, and, for beaches, a cooler rack that mounts your board to the side of the bike.

The H/T comes with five levels of pedal-assist, but I mostly use compression, partly because I’m lazy and partly because the pedal-assist response can be inconsistent. For levels 1 to 3, pedal support was smooth; I just felt like it gave me a little boost when I stepped on it. At levels 4 and 5, however, the bike seemed to wobble every time I pedaled. It felt like my bike was jumping forward instead of helping, to the point where I almost fell off the bike the first time I tried level 5. If you’re an extreme cyclist looking for more action cycling, this may not be the bike for you.
