One center confuses Deschamps with Senegal

He owns it Didier DeschampsThe France coach has outlined an almost complete vision of the squad that will start the Roosters’ World Cup campaign against Senegal, but there is one doubt over the back line, particularly at centre-back.

AS newspaper reported that French defender William Saliba continues to suffer from back pain, an injury that has persisted since the Champions League final.

Saliba had doubts about his ability to travel to the World Cup, but the French federation and the player eventually agreed on his participation, with a follow-up plan for treatment after it ends.

He did not play the full 90 minutes in the two pre-World Cup friendlies against Côte d’Ivoire and Northern Ireland, and despite starting the second friendly, was substituted to avoid aggravating the injury.

Since France’s arrival in Boston, Saliba has undergone a rest and individual treatment program under the supervision of the medical staff, and while he should be ready to face Senegal, Deschamps is still torn between him and Ibrahima Konate.

As for Konate, who will sign with Real Madrid after the tournament, he is considered as an alternative option, but he is second in the France squad, but Saliba’s injury could open the starting doors for him.
