Ollie Robinson ‘one of the best footballers in the world’ – Rob Key

New Zealand-born England head coach Brendon McCullum is a well-known advocate of the All Blacks’ philosophies around team harmony, but Key said Robinson’s absence was purely fitness-related.

“I don’t think Ollie has ever been a problem in our setup,” Key said. “He’s not a bother, you just have to trust that you know what you’re getting. That’s what we said.”

Robinson The centre-back is out of contract at the end of 2024 and his England career appears to be over, or at least needs a change of management to recall.

However, England contacted him at the beginning of the summer, and he was also the captain of Sussex. He led the county to three wins in five matches, taking 17 wickets and scoring a stunning century at Surrey The Oval.
