A heavy casualty
eternal French Michael Olizey has expressed his desire to join Real Madrid.Starting next season, after he informed his teammates during the World Cup of his intention to leave Bayern Munich, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.
Olissi’s name was mentioned in the nominations when Real Madrid president Florentino Perez spoke in the run-up to a €150m offer to sign the big international star, before the Real Madrid president quickly clarified that the Frenchman was not the target of that talk.
The French newspaper “L’Equipe” revealed During the World Cup, Olissi told his teammates about his desire to move from Bayern Munich to Madrid, and the newspaper even dedicated the cover of its Friday issue to this file.
The newspaper adds that Real Madrid officials are aware of the player’s desire and intend to take steps after the end of the World Cup to try to complete the deal, although they recognize the difficulty of the task, especially as Bayern Munich have no intention of parting with the player, as club officials have previously confirmed.
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer sent a clear message about Real Madrid’s potential interest in signing Olissi, saying: “Florentino Perez can relieve himself of the burden of making an offer to include Olissi because we don’t want to sell him.”
The 24-year-old forward has a contract with Bayern Munich that runs until the summer of 2029, but he believes the time has come to take a new step in his career, something he also told his team-mates during the World Cup.
As reported by L’Equipe, his teammate Dayot Upamekano tried to convince him to stay in Munich.
L’Equipe have explained that a potential deal to include Olisse could see one of Royals’ established stars leave to make room for the rising French star.
Speculation in the French paper suggests that Jude Bellingham, whose relationship with Kylian Mbappe is not on the best of terms at the moment, or Vinicius Junior, who has yet to sit down to negotiate a contract extension, are candidates to leave the Santiago Bernabeu to make way for Olise’s arrival.
