Officially… Postecoglou is the new technical director of Al-Nasr Club

“Al-Nasr” club has announced the appointment of Australian Ange Postecoglou as the team’s technical director for the next season, replacing Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus.

Al-Nasr had started the search for a new technical director to lead the team next seasonAfter Jesus decided to let him go at the end of last season despite winning the Saudi Arabian League title.

Al-Nasr club today, Friday, published a tweet through its official account on the “X” website, announcing the signing of Postecoglou for the next two seasons, which ends in 2028.

“Al-Asmi club wrote in its message. “A new chapter, Mr. Ange Postecoglou is the coach of Al-Nasr Club’s first football team, whose contract has been extended for two seasons. We wish him and his crew success in their journey with Al-Alam, God willing.”

The 60-year-old will return to training after an absence of around nine months after being sacked as Nottingham Forest manager in October last year, around 40 days after being appointed.

The Greek-born coach has extensive coaching experience, having managed the Australian national team between 2013 and 2017, then Japan’s Yokohama, Scotland’s Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur between 2023 and 2025.

Notably, Al-Nasr club has been linked with contracts with several coaches recently, most notably Portugal coach Roberto Martinez of Spain, before appointing Postecoglou.
