Officially, Jordan announces the dismissal of Jamal Al-Salami


Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, Vice-President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), today, Sunday, announced the retirement of coach Jamal Al-Salami from Jordan’s national football team, Al-Nashama, praising his efforts and contribution to the historic achievement of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

After the meeting with Prince Ali Al-Salami, he wrote on his official account on the “X” platform: “Today in meeting my dear brother Captain Jamal Al-Salami and at the end of your career with the Al-Nashama national team, we thank you for your efforts and special dedication and your contribution to our national team’s historic achievement of qualifying for the World Cup.”

He added: “Your experience with Al-Nashama was exceptional and you will always be a favorite child of Jordan for the commitment, professionalism and leadership you provided.”

Prince Ali concluded his remarks by saying: “My best wishes to you for continued success at your next stop. You will also be worthy of advice and experience that we value and benefit from.”

Al-Salami is the first coach in the history of Jordanian football to lead the Jordanian national team to the finals of the World Cup as he managed to achieve this unprecedented historic achievement that has been waiting for decades.
