The birth notes of the mother of Lucy Lebby accused of murder are not ready to be defended before her trial, the BBC reports.

Dr. Dewey Evans, the prosecution’s chief medical witness, said the full birth notes had nothing to do with the case.
“I never saw any birth notes and I don’t know what happened to them,” he said.
“I don’t think maternal care is an exception in Lebby’s case. I think most of the babies I’ve dealt with have been born in acceptable conditions.”
Evans said he saw brief birth summaries — “usually two paragraphs” — attached to each baby’s newborn notes.
