It’s the world’s best-kept secret that Nvidia is about to announce a handful of Arm-powered chips at Computex this week, and now Microsoft, Nvidia, and Arm are all publicly teasing the announcement. The accounts for Windows and Nvidia GeForce on X both posted “A new era for the PC” earlier todayand now Arm has followed and the same post.
All three articles include references to where Computex is held in Taipei. Nvidia is holding a Computex word in Taipei at 8PM PT / 11PM ET on Sunday night, where it is rumored to announce its N1 and N1x laptop chips.
These Arm-powered Nvidia processors have been rumored for a long time, by reports earlier this year indicating that both Lenovo and Dell have been preparing new laptops with N1X chips. First we heard rumors about Nvidia laptop processors in 2023and Dell CEO Michael Dell also mentioned the possibility of AI PC and Nvidia during an interview in 2024.
Nvidia’s entry into Windows on Arm will mean that Qualcomm will no longer have the exclusive license to Microsoft’s Windows 11 Arm separate operating system.
