Exaggerated reports. A Norwegian doctor answers
Norway’s team doctor has scoffed at reports suggesting the team were suffering from an intestinal virus ahead of their 2026 World Cup quarter-final against England early next Sunday.
The Norwegian team, having defeated Brazil (2-1) in the 1/8 finals, qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Championship.
Speaking before the match against EnglandNorway national team coach Stal Solbakken has expressed his concern about his team’s health due to the extensive travel required throughout the World Cup.
“We only had Jorge (Strand-Larsen) who had a fever, but then there was some coughing and random giggles all over the place,” Solbakken said.
He added: “There is air conditioning, flights, changing rooms, all that, there are 50 people (in the Norwegian delegation), so it would be strange if something didn’t turn up.
However, Norwegian team doctor Ola Sand insists that reports of the virus in the team are exaggerated.
“All the players are healthy now,” Sand said in an interview with Norwegian newspaper Netafsen.
According to the newspaper, Hasima added:subwayEnglish “There wasn’t much fuss considering we’ve been close for about six weeks.”
When asked about the headlines in the English media about the spread of the ‘virus’ among Norway’s players, Sandi replied: “It’s great that they believe in it. We are monitoring the situation.”
It is noteworthy that the winner of the England-Norway match will meet the winner of the Argentina-Switzerland match in the semi-finals of the World Cup.
