No first B-series phone is skipping the US

Nothing is shaking up the quality of its budget phones, following last year’s Phone 3A Lite with the new Phone 4B. Including products made by 4A and 4A ProIt follows Nothing’s previous low-cost phones by leapfrogging the US market.

The company already uses the “A” brand to sell cheap products, and the first “B” phone is one level below. 4B appears to replace the naming convention used last year Phone 3A Lite.

Wisely, it borrows a bit from the two 4A phones, which were launched in March this year. The unibody design is the same as the 4A Pro, although it’s in plastic rather than metal, but it incorporates a “refined” version of the Glyph Bar notification LEDs seen on the standard 4A. The phone 4B will be available in white, black, and blue colors, and has IP64 dust and water resistance.

Specifications are similar for a budget phone. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 supports the phone, combined with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. The 6.77-inch display is a 120Hz OLED, but the cameras sound basic: a dual rear camera with a 50-megapixel, OIS main sensor; and ultrawide without resolution. The battery is very impressive, since the capacity of 5,200mAh – 6,000mAh in India – makes the None very large. The phone ships with Android 16, and nothing promises that it will get three years of OS updates and six security patches.

While the 4A Pro is on sale in the US, the 4B follows other low-cost Nothing phones by limiting its launch to the UK, Europe, and India. It will cost $299 / €329 (around $400) when it launches on July 17th, a £50/80 increase on the flagship Phone 3A Lite. It is associated with the establishment of $99 Ear 3A headphoneswho are otherwise getting a US release.
