NFL: Terrion Arnold Arrested as ‘Principal Conspirator’ in Kidnapping and Armed Robbery

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested in Tampa, Florida on Wednesday in connection with an armed kidnapping and robbery.

According to Tampa Police,, External Investigators believe Arnold was the “principal conspirator” in the Feb. 4 “armed robbery” of three adult males in their late teens.

Three days earlier, Arnold and several other personal belongings worth more than $250,000 (£190,000) were stolen from the Airbnb they were renting in Largo, Florida.

Arnold, 23, is suspected of being responsible for two of the three victims, police said.

The NFL player and some six co-defendants lured them to an apartment in Tampa, where the three teenagers were “beaten, held at gunpoint and pistol-whipped before being robbed of their personal property and forced to leave,” according to a police report.

In addition, one of the defendants broadcast the incident to Arnold and two other people on their way to the apartment, and a group chat was created in which directions were given during the attack.

The victims reported to Tampa police and positively identified the suspects, and investigators determined they were not involved in the Airbnb theft.

Six men were arrested on February 4 and 21, 2009 in connection with the alleged kidnapping.

Arnold turned himself in on Wednesday and was taken into custody. He faces four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery.

The Hillsborough County State’s Attorney’s Office said the charge carries a sentence of up to life in prison.

Arnold’s representatives, EAG Sports Management chief executive Denis White, said: “There is no credible evidence linking Mr Arnold to these allegations.

“Instead, the government appears to be relying on the testimony of many convicted criminals who believe they were involved and have a strong incentive to shift blame in an effort to reduce their prison terms.”

“Mr. Arnold looks forward to his day in court and is confident that the judicial process will ultimately bring justice.”

Since becoming a first-round draft pick in 2024, Arnold has played in 24 games for the Detroit Lions.
