Despite already playing twice on home soil in the inaugural Nations Championship, New Zealand will relish a return to Eden Park, where they have not lost a Test since France won in 1994.
However, the New Zealand coach said they cannot rest on their laurels when they welcome an Ireland side that is unbeaten in six matches.
“It’s always nice to go to Eden Park. A lot of supporters cheering us on will be good,” he continued.
“It was a fort, but what happened in the past counts for little. It’s about us making sure we get our preparation and mindset right.
“Playing against an Irish team who, the last time they toured this country, won a series.”
Rennie also added the importance of stopping New Zealand-born scrum-half Jamieson Gibson-Park.
Gibson-Park came through in Ireland’s emphatic 33-31 win over Australia but did not feature in the much-changed team to face Japan.
“Leinster have had a huge impact on Irish rugby over the years. I love their combination. They are really strong. Jamieson has been a big part of their success.
“We have to make life difficult for him so he can’t play on the front foot and apply pressure that way.”
