Real Madrid are set to make a swift move to sign Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez to fill the void left by Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
According to the Independent newspaper, “Real Madrid” will take a new step to acquire Enzo, whose contract with “Chelsea” is extended until the summer of 2032.
It is believed that the last round of the Premier League match against Sunderland will be Enzo’s last match with Chelsea.
Manchester City is also interested in the Argentinian player, but it may depend on the future of Rodri, who is the main target of Real Madrid, but the deal seems more difficult to implement.
The Blues are unlikely to recoup more than the £100m they paid for Enzo, despite recognizing Real’s immediate need for a genuine central midfielder.
If Real Madrid eventually turn to Rodri, Enzo Fernandez will become an option for Manchester City.
Notably, Chelsea punished Enzo following his public statements in which he expressed his willingness to gain new professional experience outside the English Premier League while professing his love for Spain.
