last month, we reported at an alarming event at the annual meeting of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in New Orleans. On June 5, five leading scientists he was expelled by providing copies of articles, printed in Diabetes Care magazine (the ADA magazine) in April, strongly criticizes the Trump administration’s attacks on scientific research. There was a public outcry and (eventually) a personal apology from the CEO of the ADA for the heavy-handed response, but it seems that the organization has not learned its lesson.
Contributing editors of Diabetes Care he wrote editorial and seven accompanying articles to the print server—contained in a single PDF file—that the ADA has refused to publish. A number of troubling new developments are included in the news, including allegations that ADA leadership premeditated members’ submission of the documents and deliberately set up security by local police. That decision, perhaps, could be a result of the growing tension surrounding the session organized last year.
ADA leadership was provided with the documents before they were published and invited to immediately publish their responses.
