Awaiting final touches
Manchester United are set to complete a major deal to strengthen their midfield to compensate for the departure of Brazilian star Casemiro.
The Red Devils have officially announced that Casemiro will be out of their account at the end of last season, considering that he was one of the team’s highest paid players.
According to The Athletic’s reliable British journalist Andy Mitten, Manchester United are very close to signing Atalanta’s Brazilian midfielder Ederson.
He emphasized. “It is expected that the transaction will be settled within the next 24-48 hours. “The negotiations between the two clubs have reached very advanced stages, although a full final agreement has not yet been reached,” he noted.

In the same context, Italian journalist Niccolò Shira, who specializes in transfers, said: “Manchester United” will send the documents to Atalanta tomorrow to complete the deal. Ederson will move for 45 million euros with a contract until 2031, and the player will receive 5 million euros per year.

Reports suggest the deal could be worth around £34m (around €44m), which is significantly lower than previous estimates of between £50m and £55m.
Ederson (26) is considered one of the most popular midfielders in the Italian league as he had another strong season with Atalanta, making 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists.

Ederson is expected to bolster manager Carrick’s options in midfield, especially as United need to bolster their defensive and physicality in this position.
