NBA: Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo joins Miami Heat.

Two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo has joined the Miami Heat from the Milwaukee Bucks.

The deal would see Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis go to Miami, with Tyler Hero, Kell Ware and Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kasparas Jakousionis going the other way.

Drafted by the Bucks in 2013, Antetokounmpo won one NBA Championship in 2021.

The 31-year-old player was criticized by the team’s management for not allowing him to play last season after he suffered a strain on his left knee.

With his future uncertain, the Boston Celtics have been linked with the Greek star.

Heat president Pat Reilly called it “one of the greatest trades” in franchise history, winning three NBA titles in 2006, 2012 and 2013.

“Sometimes I feel like people don’t listen,” Antetokounmpo said in April after the Bucks failed to reach the playoffs.

“They listen to the sources, the main source is me, that’s him.”

Elsewhere, the Philadelphia 76ers confirmed the acquisition of Jaylen Brown from Eastern Conference rivals the Boston Celtics as well as the signing of free agent guard Anferni Simmons.

The 76ers traded Brown for veteran forward Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks.
