Nations Championship: Wales ready to take flight for tough tests in Argentina and South Africa

Tandy said there would be no excuses from his squad about any logistical challenges.

“With limited training we are going to face two incredible tests but this is going to be a unique test for us,” the Wales head coach said.

“We will probably do a session together in Argentina because there will be separate flights.

“So in South Africa, we might get two but that’s something we’re looking at.”

Wales have selected a 33-strong traveling squad and the busy schedule means selection is subject to change with many players given playing time.

“We’re getting more competitive so there are certain positions that we can probably handle things because they’re physical,” Tandy said.

The pressure will be off Wales after the win over Fiji but Tandy said his side will not be at the events at Cardiff City Stadium.

“This Test match rugby is tough,” said Tandy.

“We’re going to taste the victory, but we’re not going to be on the outside looking in.”

Argentina will be hurt after their 12-try thriller defeat by Scotland, but Wales need no reminding. 52-28 win The Pumas pounced on them in Tandy’s first game as head coach in November 2025.
