The 52 clubs involved have outlined in the letter an agenda they hope to discuss at the meeting with the FA.
Among the issues they raise are:
Whether the process adopted by the Board “conforms” to the constitutional rights of the member clubs
Use of “anonymous” surveys instead of a formal voting system
“Financial disbursement incentives” to push for a deal
“Concerns” regarding independence of board decision-making
The need for “transparency and accountability”
The letter states that the FA is bound by a notice period to agree a meeting and confirm an agenda, which is believed to be between seven and 14 working days.
Hashtag United FC operations manager Anthony Shaw brought together 52 clubs and signed the letter on their behalf.
All clubs have been listed. Among them were Middlesbrough, Derby County, Halifax, Doncaster Bells and Hull City.
Former National League for Women chair Carol West strongly opposed the proposals, writing on social media: “The damage that is being done here should not be underestimated. I absolutely cannot believe that this is being allowed to happen.
“The overriding problem with all of this is that most clubs do not want a PGA (Professional Game Academy) team in their league but have repeatedly been denied their democratic right to vote to make it official once and for all.
“Instead, they are told that this is happening regardless, which is not correct.”
