Naga Munchetti switched from BBC One’s Breakfast to Radio 5’s Live Breakfast

BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetti is leaving the show after 17 years, and will swap the TV sofa for the presenter’s chair on the Radio 5 Live breakfast show.

Munchetti joined BBC One Breakfast as a financial correspondent and has been one of its main hosts for the past 12 years.

She currently hosts the weekday episode of the TV show and 5 live mid-day shows on select weekdays. Starting in December, she will serve 5 live breakfasts, five days a week.

“Being part of the BBC Breakfast TV team for the past 17 years has been a privilege to work with an incredibly talented and hard-working group of journalists who have become not only great colleagues but also great friends,” she said in a statement.

“Presenting a flagship program on 5 Live is too good an opportunity to pass up.

“It takes a huge amount of work and requires 100% of my focus and energy and I’m looking forward to throwing myself into the role.”
