Nadine Rissen: West Ham have signed the Swiss defender on a three-year deal

West Ham United have signed Swiss defender Nadine Rissen following a move from Eintracht Frankfurt.

He joined on a three-year deal between 2023 and 2026 after making 69 appearances for the German club in the Freund-Bundesliga.

The versatile 26-year-old full-back has experience in the Women’s Champions League (WCL) and has 42 caps for her country.

He became West Ham manager Rita Guarino’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Katie Zelem, Constance Picaud and Laia Codina.

“When I heard of West Ham’s interest in me, I was very excited. It’s a huge club with a proud history and I’m very happy to be here,” Riesen said.

“It already feels like a family here and everyone has given me such a warm welcome since I arrived.

“The Women’s Super League is one of the best leagues in the world so it’s a massive opportunity to continue my development in a new environment, challenge myself and continue to do what I love.

“I really like Rita’s ambition for the team. There is a lot of potential in this group and I hope that together we can achieve something great.”

Rissen made his international debut in 2019 and scored in all four of Switzerland’s matches at Euro 2025 at home against Norway.

Guarino said: “He is a full-back with pace and attacking quality that will complement our style of play.

“Nadine works extremely hard for the team and has a never-say-die attitude, which we value within this group.

“Over the last few years, he has become an important player for his national team and that experience will be really valuable for us.”
