Different match at Allianz Arena
Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller has predicted the scenario of his former team’s Champions League semi-final return match against PSG next Wednesday at the Allianz Arena.
Last week’s first leg at Prince Park witnessed a frenzy of action and ended in a 5-4 victory for Saint-Germain.
The return leg determines the identity of the final, which will face the winner of Arsenal and Atletico Madrid in the other semi-final.
Muller, who currently plays for the Canadian “Vancouver Whitecaps”, said in a conversation with the German “Kicker” magazine. “The return match will be different from the first match.”
“In short, we have rarely witnessed such an exchange of attacks with such frankness and clarity. I expect the second leg to be different. Both teams will focus on the result from the sixtieth minute.”
He continued. “Then the adjustments will begin. The leading team will look to defend deeper and the other team will control the flow of the game. This interaction is what will determine the outcome of the second leg.”
“If Bayern Munich had played for ninety minutes like they did in Paris, the match would have ended with Bayern Munich winning by one or two goals.”
It is noteworthy that the 36-year-old Müller played 756 matches in various competitions and scored 250 goals as part of “Bavaria” Munich.
