Mourinho refused to settle the matter
After Benfica’s win over Estoril in the Portuguese league final on Saturday, manager Jose Mourinho made a major announcement regarding his future, commenting on reports of his approach to managing Real Madrid.
Regarding his continuation or departure from “Benfica”, Mourinho said in the statements he made in the mixed zone after the game. “I don’t know. I’ll let you know when I know… there’s a chance I’ll continue. “I have an extension offer from Benfica and I thank the club.”

He added, revealing scenes of current movements. “(Agent) Jorge Mendes told me that I have a great extension offer from Benfica… There are also talks between Real Madrid president Mendes and the administration.”
“But for now nothing is signed… There is a 99% chance that I will stay at Benfica because I have a year left on my contract and I have an offer for an extension which looks interesting.”
The Portuguese coach’s comments came as several Spanish media reported that he had already reached an agreement with Real Madrid and that an official announcement of the deal was imminent.
