Mother and boyfriend plead guilty to Thornaby girl’s murder.

A mother and her new boyfriend have been found guilty of murdering her two-year-old daughter, and the man was convicted of sexually abusing the girl.

Isabelle Welsh suffered multiple injuries in the weeks before she suffered a fractured skull at her home in Thornaby in September 2025, Teesside Crown Court heard.

Alexandra Walker, 25, and her partner Harrison Simpson, 22, were both found guilty of manslaughter and child cruelty, with Simpson sexually assaulting a child.

They will be punished on Thursday.

The court heard Isabel was seriously injured on the morning of September 13 when she was alone with Simpson and Walker in bed following a drink and drug overdose.
