Van de Ven believes De Gerby’s side will play better football, with new signings and a full pre-season helping to drill the squad.
“It’s going to be different to the manager we had last season,” Van de Ven said.
“It’s going to be more with the ball, I think, more about playing football. I think it will be more enjoyable for people because we will be playing attacking football.
“You can see that he (de Zarby) has brought a lot of passion to our team, a lot in terms of mentality and emotion on the pitch.
“It’s something we needed because everyone was a little bit down.
“He brings a lot of good energy and since pre-season, we’ve really had time to bring his football into the team. It’s really enjoyable.”
Earlier this month Spurs broke their transfer record twice in two days, first signing midfielder Mateus Fernandes from West Ham for £85million before bringing in Sandro Tonali. Newcastle for £100m.
Van de Ven’s Netherlands team-mate Jan Paul van Hecke also joined Brighton Experienced trio Marcos Senesi, Andrew Robertson and Martin Dubravka on free transfers as well in £52m deals.
“To be honest, the feeling in the team is really good,” added van de Ven.
“I’ve really enjoyed working with him (de Zerby). That’s what we’ve been doing this pre-season, and the guys coming in have been incredible.
“They fit well into the group.”
