Meta does not allow you to close his AI account on Threads

Meta announced on Tuesday that it is testing a Threads feature that allows users to set up a Meta AI account to get answers to questions or discussion topics on the platform. If you’ve been looking for answers on X as of late, this new feature sounds like Meta’s take on xAI’s Grok. But, as he said EngadgetThreads users quickly realized that you can’t ban a new Meta AI account, and they’re not happy about it.

Meta has invested heavily in AI as it works to catch up with rivals like OpenAI and Google, spending billions to recruit AI talent. It introduced a new type of AI called Muse Spark in Aprilwhich it said it would bring to its programs and services, and now, it appears on Threads and a new Meta AI account. A video recording shows how the new feature, which was available as a test in Argentina, Malaysia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, allows you to signal Meta AI to find answers to questions like “why is everyone obsessed with matcha” or “how do you pronounce ‘Cannes’?” But if you go to the three-dot menu on the Meta AI profile, there is no way to close it, like you can find in other accounts.

“Users can monitor their Meta AI experience during the test,” Meta spokeswoman Christine Pai said Seaside. “We want to give people a way to gather information quickly before jumping into a conversation, but if you want to see fewer Meta AI responses in your Threads feed you can mute or hide Meta AI responses, or use the ‘Uninterested’ option on any Meta AI post.”
