The auction, which will be held on 5 June by Heritage Auctions, will benefit a Matthew Perry Foundation, which was established after the actor’s death to fight addiction and support drug addiction recovery.
Perry struggled with alcoholism and drug abuse for most of his life and was found dead in the hot tub of her Hollywood home in 2023, aged 54. The medical examiner confirmed that effects of ketamine drugs it was a trigger.
“Matthew believes that addiction should be met with compassion and science, not stigma and silence,” said the organization’s director, Lisa Kasteler Calio. “This sale furthers the organization’s work to expand access to evidence-based health care and combat discrimination.
Items for sale include script for your Friends driver – where the popular sitcom had a sixth chapter – signed by Perry and her co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer. The initial cost of the script was $500 (A$700, £370) and was provided by Warner Bros, who produced the show.
Also in the auction is a series of 26 Perry’s Friends articles from key episodes, including The One With Ross’s Tan, The One Where Joey Speaks French and the two-part series finale. The bundle has a starting price of $1,000.
Perry’s Screen Actors Guild awardwhich he won for his best performance with the comedy team in 1995, is available for purchase, as is. its image of a yellow frame which was hung on the door of Monica and Rachel’s house.

The success of Friends, along with the support of friends, helped him overcome his addiction, Perry wrote in his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Biggest Scary Thing. “There’s no way I’d be a traveling actor. I wouldn’t be a drug addict for this; it wasn’t worth not having heroin… When you’re making $1 a week, you can’t afford to drink 17,” he wrote.
Perry had been taking ketamine legally to treat depression but began to look for alternatives after his doctor refused to give him the drug in the amount he wanted.
Five people have pleaded guilty in connection with Perry’s death. Three were convicted: two doctors, Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez; and “Ketamine Queen” Jasveen Sangha, who last month was was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in Perry’s death.
The actor’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who injected him with the drug before his death, and Erik Fleming, who bought the ketamine from Sangha and gave Iwamasa to Perry, also confessed. Both men are awaiting sentencing, Fleming in May and Iwamasa in June.
