Matt Walker: Sussex appoint new head coach to replace Paul Farbrace

Sussex have announced that former Kent boss Matt Walker will take over as their new head coach for the 2027 season.

The 52-year-old will take over on November 1, succeeding Paul Farbrace, who is changing roles. Sussex’s new director of cricket.

Walker spent eight seasons as head coach at Kent, guiding them to promotion to Division One in 2018, T20 Blast success in 2021 and promotion to the One-Day Cup in 2022.

He has also coached in the England men’s set-up and is currently batting coach at Warwickshire and assistant coach at MI London at The Hundred, formerly known as Oval Invincibles.
