Defending Super League champions Hull KR moved back into the play-off positions after a 34-20 comeback derby win at Hull FC from 12 points behind.
Hull FC, who had lost eight derbies in a row, got off to a flying start, scoring twice in the opening eight minutes to go 12-0 up through Joe Batchelor and Davy Litten.
However, Rovers leveled at half-time after tries from Tom Ammon and Arthur Murg.
The Black and Whites briefly regained the lead at 14-12 in the second half through the boot of Zak Hardaker, but a try from Jack Broadbent and a Morgue penalty soon put the Robins six points ahead.
The game then swung to a try with 12 minutes to play; Hull FC looked set to score down the right, but Joe Burgess pinched an interception to race some 80m down the field for Hull KR’s fourth.
Jordan Dezaria added another penalty late in the game to extend the lead to Jake Arthur’s late try for Hull FC Academic.

Hull FC the coach Andy Last to say Sky Sports:
“It was our possession. Started the game really well. Got 12-0 up. In the last 15 minutes of the first half, we started to get a little bit of momentum going forward, but then conceded a couple of soft tries.
“In the second half, we couldn’t get out of our half. Hal KR are very good in suffocating field positions. We had a chance to go in the 15th minute.
“We didn’t show enough patience to keep them camped at the end, and Burgess’s try was a back-breaker. Credit to Hull KR, they were the better team.

Hull FC were quick out of the blocks as they stunned Hull KR with two tries in the first eight minutes.
“We controlled big parts of that game really well in the first half. But the momentum just went haywire.
“They started to get a bit of momentum, Jez Litten; no wonder he got man of the match. A fantastic player. He dominated big parts of the game for Hull KR, but there’s a lesson there for us.”
‘Proud’ Peters: Anyone who questioned our fight – we showed it tonight

“It was a comfortable win but naturally, it could have been ugly after the start, but they showed a lot of fight.
“If anyone questioned our fight before the game, I was most proud. 12-12 at half-time, yes it wasn’t perfect but I wanted to see some fight from the group and they certainly showed that.

“You’re not calm as a coach during a game. Where we are as a club, it’s new for us.
“From what we did last year, we’re in a different position, where teams hunted us down. We found ourselves outside six, which is new territory but a big challenge.
“We will learn a lot about ourselves and the club will learn at the end of the year. We want to review it then, not now, we have a lot of fights left.
“There’s no disconnect. When I talk about disconnect, we talk about things like that on the field sometimes. One thing I’m strong about is connected. Connected teams win, simple as that. If we weren’t connected, we wouldn’t have come back to win that game tonight.”
Litten: We have a lot to improve but still a champion team

“Always special to play in the derby. It wasn’t the prettiest game but we stuck in there and got there for each other and I’m happy we got another derby winner.
“The way we did it was good. We went 12 points behind and showed that resilience. We’ve had a tough couple of weeks; it’s only important to us what we talk about within the four walls of the dressing room.

The Hull derby heated up as both sides engaged in a melee where both FC and KR stars were lucky to avoid a late challenge and a slapping penalty.
“We showed that tonight. We’re still the champion team. And we’re coming into business at the end of the year. Tonight just showed, we’re still the champion team and a lot of teams want to knock us off.
“We’re still not the complete package and we have a lot to improve on. We’re going to be humble about it and work on our game next week.”
