Italian club Juventus are set to sign Argentine veteran Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in the upcoming summer transfer window in an attempt to strengthen the goalkeeper position with one of the most popular goalkeepers in Europe.

According to reports from Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 33-year-old goalkeeper is keen on a new experience outside the Premier League, despite extending his contract with Aston Villa until the summer of 2029.

Martinez’s current market value is estimated to be around €20 million, while the wage bill is the most obvious obstacle facing the Bianconeri’s management, with the Argentinian goalkeeper on a net salary of €6 million a year, which requires scrutiny to ensure financial balance at the club.
