The first Marshall headphones with noise canceling were Marshall Mid ANC was first launched in 2018 current list they only provide noise cancellation for their size Monitor III ANC headphonesbut its new Milton ANC brings back Marshall’s smaller and lighter in-ear design. The wireless headphones are available today for $229.99 through Marshall’s online store, but availability will expand to other “select retailers” beginning May 27.
This makes the new Milton ANC $70 more expensive than the in-ears Marshall Major Vwhich have the same compact design and offer more than 100 hours of wireless playback. The Milton ANC still has an impressive 80 hours of playtime with ANC off, but once you start blocking out the noisy world around you, that drops to just over 50 hours.
Headphones usually don’t offer as good ANC as you’ll find headphones that cover your ears completelybut Marshall says the Milton ANC has an updated design with “larger ear cups and memory foam” so it can block outside noise and wear better. There’s also a visual feature that uses the headphones’ six microphones to pick up the sound of what’s going on around you.
For those times when you’re in a noisy environment and the ANC doesn’t block all the noise, the Milton ANC has Marshall functionality. Instead of changing the sound or lowering the volume, the headphones automatically adjust the “music playback” so that quiet information is not interrupted.
Other features include “a new driver system designed to improve bass and treble extension,” spatial audio integration; Bluetooth 6.0 with codecs including LE Audio, SBC, AAC, LC3, and LDAC; replaceable battery to extend the life of the headphones; and the ability to track Milton ANC using the Apple and Google networks.
