“Manchester City” has officially signed a new contract

Manchester City have agreed a €25m move for promising French winger Matisse Detourbet from Troyes, with Monaco preparing to buy him on loan, a deal that reflects City Football Group’s strategy of developing young talent.

Troyes, the French first division and new City Group club, officially announced the 19-year-old striker’s move to the English club on Saturday, ending speculation surrounding the player’s future since mid-May.

Detourbet is considered one of the standout stars of Troyes’ exceptional season that saw them win the French second division title and return to the Elite League, where the young winger scored 3 goals and provided 6 assists in the tournament.

The deal is in line with City Group’s usual policy of moving players between its clubs around the world, as Detourbet will move from Troyes to Manchester City before being immediately loaned out to Monaco to gain more experience in the French Premier League.

Detourbet joining Monaco on loan is expected to give the player a golden opportunity to prove his worth at the top level before the Emirati club decide his ultimate future based on his performance next season.
