Man dressed as lobster hunted for Alexandra Palace dart attack

Detectives are hunting a man who seriously injured another man, punching him unconscious after a World Darts Championship match in north London.

The victim, who is in his twenties, was assaulted outside Alexandra Palace on December 13 and is still suffering from “significant trauma” seven months later, police said.

The suspect is believed to have been among a group of men who attended a darts tournament dressed as lobsters.

The Met Police have released a CCTV image taken at the scene in the hope of tracking down the man and jogging the memory of any witnesses.

The victim was walking from Alexandra Palace at around 16:30 GMT when she encountered the group of cloaked men.

He got into an argument with them and was separated by security personnel.

Soon after, the victim ran into the group again in the venue area and one of the men punched him and knocked him out.

He later reported the incident to the Met.

Det Con Lizzie Coster, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim in this case and we wish him the best for his recovery.

“The attack took place outside a major sporting event and the suspect was wearing a distinctive outfit.

“We are releasing a CCTV image of the suspect in the hope it may spark memories of those present, or anyone else who was in the area at the time.”
