Malaysia’s Sepang circuit will host the Bahrain Grand Prix in October, Formula One has announced.
Liberty Media Sports announced on Sunday that the October 4 race held near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport will be called the “Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia”.
“This is fantastic news for our fans,” said Formula One Chief Executive Stefano Domenicali in an announcement at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He revealed that an agreement has been signed between the governments of Malaysia and Bahrain as well as the governing body of the FIA and Formula One.
“He will continue to enjoy a packed and exciting Formula One calendar, while also seeing the sport return to its best form.
“Sepang has a special place in the history of Formula One. It will provide an excellent racing environment and an unforgettable experience for fans around the world and to watch.”
