Algerian Riyad Mahrez, the Al-Ahly winger, has caused controversy and division in the corridors of Al-Raqi this term between a movement that sees the need for him to continue and another movement that prefers him to leave before the start of the new season.

In this context, sports journalist Debbas Al-Dosari revealed that there is a clear disagreement in the club’s technical committee regarding the future of the Algerian player.
Al-Dossari explained that the first opinion in Al-Ahly tends to activate the separation clause and take advantage of the financial compensation to sign a younger and more energetic player who can serve the team for several years, especially with the desire to renew the blood within the artistic project.

The other side, on the other hand, believe that Mahrez’s continuation is an important element in keeping the squad stable, especially given the possibility of Ivorian Franck Kesse leaving in the upcoming transfer window.
