What is Magic Weekend?

First held in 2007, Magic Weekend sees 12 Super League clubs descend on a single venue to play a full round of games over two days.

To be held this year on the weekend of July 4 and 5, three matches will be played back-to-back on each day. The French match between the Catalan Dragons and Toulouse Olympique is also on Saturday 4 July, but from the Stade Pierre Fabres in Castres from 8pm.

With this move, it marked the first time that all the fixtures were not hosted at the same venue.

The format has proved so popular that it has been copied around the world, particularly in Australia where the NRL hosts a four-day Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane each year.
