Luke Littler: I’m not training but I’m getting on top of rivals – ‘Sometimes I beat Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen before the last leg’ | Darts News

Luke Littler has revealed he is “not practicing” at the moment, despite winning the three-night Premier League darts trot, he feels he is at the head of rivals Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen.

Littler claimed a hat trick in Thursday night’s win A record-equalling sixth of the 2026 Premier League season when he beat Humphries 6–5 In the final on the night of the 14th in Leeds.

The 19-year-old beat Jonny Clayton 6-5 in the semi-finals as well as defeating Van Gerwen by the same narrow 6-5 margin in the quarter-finals on Thursday.

Nuke’s win on the night comes a week after he defeated Humphries by the same 6-5 scoreline for a Night 13 win in Aberdeen.

“I’ve been saying for years, I always put myself back at the end,” Littler said.

Littler says he feels repeats of last-leg wins against rivals Humphries and Michael van Gerwen mean he is getting on top of them.

“I just say to myself: ‘Do or die, you’ve got to hit’ – and that’s what I did. Again with Luke (Humphries) like last week, his worst leg was the last one. But yeah, another night’s win.

“Obviously it’s always a good feeling to get any big shot. Against Michael (Van Gerwen) was probably the biggest shot of the year (fifth leg 141 checkout). It was good to see Michael fight back. Then to get past Johnny (Clayton) and Luke, I think I’m going to be looking forward to the next two weeks.

“Obviously beating them (Humphries, van Gerwen) many times over the years in last-leg deciders helped me. It might be in their heads: ‘Wait a minute, I’m against Luke Littler in another last-leg decider’.

Humphries scored 132 and Leeds’ Littler scored 146

“I might have already won them over before that leg started. From the JDC (Junior Darts Corporation) days, I’ve always backed myself, and I think I’ve produced really well in decision-making.

“Whether you beat them comfortably or on the last leg, it’s always in the head.

“Obviously the record with Geezy (Garwen Price) is great, and me and Luke (Humphries) have beaten each other all the time, same with me and Michael. But if I keep getting these wins week in week out, it gives me a lot of confidence. Then when they face me, they know they have to produce better.”

Littler’s preparations were also severely disrupted on Thursday night as he arrived at the venue due to traffic delays less than an hour before his quarter-final against van Gerwen.

Still, the double reigning world champion managed to claim three more victories. And he did it despite not practicing at the moment.

“I think I’m playing very well,” Littler said. “The last three weeks have been wins, and it’s all down to me and proper preparation.

“I can say when I’m at home, I don’t really practice, but it’s just what I do. I’ll come back here, if I have a few hours, and then make it on stage.

Littler set another record by winning three straight nights and has his eye on history

“I think the most wins on a night would have to be one. It’s a long old night with three matches, but I’ve done it many times before. Hopefully I can break my own record.

“I think it (Boeing) is always going to come, and that’s what I have to do, just keep winning and keep winning. Eventually, hopefully they’ll upset me because nothing is really working. From Rotterdam, even tonight, there were some boos, but nothing to top it. I think I can overcome anything now.”
