Looming deal.. United replace Casimir within 48 hours

Awaiting final touches

Manchester United are set to complete a major deal to strengthen their midfield to compensate for the departure of Brazilian star Casemiro.

The Red Devils have officially announced that Casemiro will be out of their account at the end of last season, considering that he was one of the team’s highest paid players.

According to The Athletic’s reliable British journalist Andy Mitten, Manchester United are very close to signing Atalanta’s Brazilian midfielder Ederson.

He emphasized. “The transaction is expected to be settled within the next 24-48 hours. Negotiations between the two clubs have reached a very advanced stage, although a full final agreement has not yet been reached.”

Noting, “An official announcement is expected in the coming hours.”

Reports suggest the deal could be worth around £34m (around €44m), which is significantly lower than previous estimates of between £50m and £55m.

Ederson (26) is considered one of the most popular midfielders in the Italian league as he had another strong season with Atalanta, making 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists.

Ederson is expected to bolster manager Carrick’s options in midfield, especially as United need to bolster their defensive and physicality in this position.
