Lira McKee: A former journalist’s partner hopes her dream will make her killer sad.

Friday’s verdicts ended a trial that lasted two years and more than seven years after Lira was shot and killed.

A total of 9 people have been charged with a total of 52 charges, including violence. So far, one accused has died.

None of the men charged with murder have been charged with firing the fatal shot that killed the 29-year-old journalist.

The prosecution’s case was that on the night Lira was killed, they accompanied a lone gunman to the shooting site and encouraged or aided him.

At the end of Friday’s hearing, the judge, Ms Justice Smith, said the outcome of the trial would bring “little, if any, comfort or relief” to Lira’s family and friends.

She added: “Lyra McKee was killed in a senseless act of violence.
