About 90 drones crashed into the waters of Sydney’s Darling Harbor during a light festival on Monday.
The breakdown was caused by “unforeseen technical difficulties”, according to the organizers of Vivid Sydney, an annual three-week festival that features large light installations.
Two upcoming on-air shows have now been cancelled.
A spokesperson for Vivid Sydney apologized for the frustration and inconvenience caused to attendees and said the drone operators had canceled the show “in accordance with standard safety protocols”.
