Portugal’s Rafael Leao has confirmed that all Portugal players are fighting to win the 2026 World Cup title and dedicate it to their captain Cristiano Ronaldo, stressing that the veteran star deserves to be crowned at the only tournament still missing from his storied career.
Ronaldo scored the first goal from the penalty spot to lead Portugal to the quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over Croatia in the early hours of Friday.
Lao said in statements to the media that Ronaldo gave his all during the national team’s preparations, whether during training or matches, stressing that his great commitment gave his teammates extra motivation to give their best in the tournament.
