Legend of Moroccan football. Who said we can’t win the World Cup?

In an interview with the FIFA website, Moroccan football legend Noureddine talked about the chances of the Moroccan national team at the 2026 World Cup and also recalled the memories of his historic period with Deportivo La Coruña.

Naibet retired from the game two decades ago, but his 115 appearances for Morocco still stand as a record, with current national team captain Ashraf Hakimi second in international caps for the Lions.

The Morocco Under-18 coach will attend the World Cup, which will be held in Canada, Mexico and the USA, and admits that a few coincidences will make it a special event.

Naibet was born in 1970, the year Mexico hosted its first World Cup, which saw the Atlas Lions participate in the tournament for the first time, and he began to dream of playing in the world event in the second match on Mexican soil in 1986, again featuring Morocco.

Finally, Nebet made his debut on the biggest stage in the 1994 USA World Cup.
