Leeds United v Brighton fans to be banned for homophobic chants

Leeds United During their time they promised to ban “long” stadiums from fans responsible for homophobic chants 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion Sunday at Elland Road.

The club said additional cameras were deployed in the stands at Premier League matches to detect supporters engaged in chanting.

“As stated before the fixture, discriminatory chants of any kind have no place in football,” a club statement said.

“Anyone caught participating in homophobic chants will face lengthy stadium bans.

“The club is also aware of the depressing Jimmy Savile lyrics, but does not accept other forms of discriminatory and homophobic chanting.”

The club could still face charges from the Football Association over homophobic and discriminatory chants breaching FA rules.
