Leeds United transfer news: James Trafford open talks with Man City over England goalkeeper’s deal | football news

Leeds United are in talks with Manchester City over a deal for goalkeeper James Trafford.

The England international is a target for Leeds’ primary goalkeeper.

Newcastle and Aston Villa have also shown an interest in Trafford this summer, but Leeds are believed to be the most advanced in their pursuit.

The 23-year-old played 17 times for City in 2025/26, after returning to the Etihad from Burnley, keeping eight clean sheets.

He then traveled to the 2026 World Cup with England, but did not appear for Thomas Tuchel.

Leeds have lost goalkeepers Karl Darlow and Ilan Meslier this summer, with the pair joining Man Utd and Arsenal respectively.
