Leandro Trossard: Arsenal confirm winger joins Besiktas in £17m deal | football news

Arsenal have confirmed that Leandro Trossard is moving to Besiktas.

The Belgium winger has been allowed to travel to Istanbul for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Besiktas announced that Trossard arrived at Atatürk Airport at 7.30pm local time (5.30pm UK time) to complete his move.

Trossard left the Premier League champions in a deal worth £17m, split between an initial £15.3m and £1.7m add-ons.

Troussard became a key player at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal – playing 174 times in three and a half years, scoring 36 goals.

During Arsenal’s title-winning campaign last term, Troussard registered eight goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances in all competitions, as the Gunners also finished as Champions League runners-up.

That moment summed up Trossard’s time at Arsenal – the Belgian came ‘clutch’ on many occasions for Arsenal.

17 of his 27 Premier League goals for the club have either been Arsenal level or leading in matches – only Bukayo Saka has scored more since Troussard joined the club.
