“Latest details”… Madrid are one step away from kidnapping the Paris star

Its value is 35 million euros.

Paris Saint-Germain’s 25-year-old South Korean Kang In-Lee is again being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, a deal that both sides are keen on after a failed attempt in the last winter transfer window, as the Parisian club refused to let go of the player who played a key role in the team’s Champions League title win.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, the Korean player and the Spanish capital club are fully committed to a deal, which PSG, the player’s current owner, have been defending as the two sides have been in contact for some time, although direct talks have yet to begin.

Kang In-Lee, who is currently playing for his country at the 2026 World Cup, is tied to PSG until 2028 after the French club paid Real Mallorca €22 million in 2023 for a player whose value has since risen significantly.

According to specialist website Transfer Market, his current market value is 28 million euros, but the Parisian club are seeking a higher sum of around 35 million euros, highlighting the financial disparity with Atletico Madrid, who are willing to pay less, including a number of performance-related bonuses to reduce fixed fees.

Atletico Madrid identified Kang In Lee as a key target to strengthen their midfield, and that remained the case even while on the verge of signing Bernardo Silva, who eventually joined Real Madrid, as the Korean player managed to agree a deal between manager Diego Simeone and sporting director Matteo Alemany.

Alemany has known the Korean since they played together at Valencia and was a key supporter when Atletico Madrid tried to sign him in the last winter transfer window, but PSG’s reluctance to let go of the player without weakening the Champions League title-winning team thwarted the attempt.
